A Brazilian bikini wax is a hair removal method that eliminates hair from the entire pubic region - basically, from your belly button to your back. Our aestheticians are trained well for this type of complex waxing and bestow you the option to leave a small strip of hair in the front, or remove it entirely.
Brazilian waxes are becoming more and more popular for all ages and for many reasons from hygiene to aesthetic appeal. Summer time, with scanty bathing suits, and weddings or anniversaries are the most common reasons for a Brazilian wax. A Brazilian bikini wax gives a clean, long lasting smoothness and radiance with the freedom from daily shaving. Ingrown hairs and razor bumps may be a thing of the past.
Waxing, in general, is recommended over shaving because it doesn't grow back as stubbly or coarse. Many consider Brazilian waxing hygienic because it doesn't absorb sweat or odor. In clients that routinely wax, the hair is normally much less coarse and they may experience 20%-30% less hair permanently!
Brazilian waxing does not recommend clients to use a cream that will numb the skin before a wax. Everyone's skin sensitivity is different and therefore the therapist will always test the temperature of the wax on the skin to check if it is suitable. A numbing cream will dull the senses and make it difficult for clients to assess the temperature. Many things can change the discomfort level of a wax. Influences such as fatigue, menstruation and medication can all be factors.
ACTUAL METHODOLOGY FOR BRAZILIAN WAX
Research local spas and salons before setting an appointment. Ask as many questions as you need to feel more comfortable. Be sure your specialist is experienced with the Brazilian wax and not just a regular bikini wax.
Be sure the hair to be removed is approximately ¼ inch long. Shorter hair may not hold well and longer hair may be more painful than usual.
Purchase a local numbing cream and apply about an hour before your appointment. Apply the cream to your inner thighs and pubic region.
About 30 minutes before your appointment take a normal dosage of mild pain medication such as Ibuprofen or Naproxen Sodium.
Wear loose clothing to your appointment. Be sure to avoid tight jeans and silk or nylon underwear.
PROCEDURES IN WAXING THE SKIN
Remove your pants and underwear. You will lie down on a table, feet apart and knees up. Some attendants may cover half of your pubic area with a towel and work on the other side.
Be sure the specialist wears gloves and uses a fresh wax applicator. It is okay if the bottles of wax appear to have been used before. However, the applicators on the “lids” should be new. Always ask questions if you are concerned.
Ask the specialist to add powder to your skin to dry it. This will allow the wax to stick better. If your hair is too long, the wax specialist may trim it at this time.
Ask if you can help to make the process any easier. The attendant will wax the top of your pubic bone first. This is the most painful. You may be asked to help hold the skin tight, which gives you a cleaner, less painful experience.
Prepare yourself. The specialist will start at the inner crease of your thighs and then move to the pubic area. The anal region is waxed last and is generally the least painful. You may request to omit the anal region if you choose. You may also request a thin strip of hair, the “landing strip,” be left on your pubic bone.
Get dressed. He will provide lotion to rub onto your pubic region. This will moisturize the area, which is essential after waxing. It also helps prevents ingrown hairs.
WARNING IN INITIATING BRAZILIAN WAX
As your hair grows back it will be thinner at the tip, unlike shaving which leaves a thicker stubble. Some of your hair may not grow back at all. Gently exfoliate the area by gentle rubbing in a circular motion with a washcloth or loofah. This prevents ingrown hairs from appearing.
The results last much longer than shaving.
The first time any hair is pulled from its follicle, is the most painful. This is similar to the first time you plucked your eyebrows. Expect your first Brazilian wax to be painful, but the pain lasts only a few seconds. Each subsequent wax is less painful. Also, as you continue a wax routine, your hair will take longer to grow back.
Never try to give yourself a Brazilian wax. You risk infection and serious injury. Even the wax specialist may need a extra hand to hold the skin tight.

Directions for self waxing
In Brazilian waxing, it varies depending on what part of body is it and also depending on its methodologies. Here are the most common Brazilian waxing techniques and its methods. The following are:
First step is to prepare the eyebrow area. To clean any dirt, oil or makeup, wash the eyebrow area, as wax does not adhere properly over greasy skin.
Apply ice or astringent to numb the skin cells so that it would be less painful.
Determine the desired and proper shape of eyebrow by looking into the mirror and using a white eyebrow pencil. Find the proper arc of eyebrow. Start of the eyebrow should be in straight line with nostril. Middle of the eyebrow is just above the iris, when looking straight. End of the eyebrow is at diagonal line from nostril, mid of mouth and other end of the eye. You can use eyebrow stencil also to find the even shape.
Now heat the wax to a desired temperature for the best results. While using hot wax near the eye area, be extra careful. Do not over heat it and prevent it from spilling into eyes, as it can be dangerous to eyes.
To find the natural arc of the eyebrows and direction of hair growth, comb the eyebrows with an eyebrow brush or toothbrush.
You can take the help of toothpick or any pointed tip object to separate the unwanted hairline.
Now it is time to apply wax. To avoid spilling and dripping, take little wax at a time at spatula.
It should be applied in the direction of hair growth and remove hair in small quantity at a time to avoid too much removing of hair.
Now stick a linen strip to the applied wax and press for few minutes to let the wax adhere properly.
Remove the strip quickly, pulling with a sudden jerk in the opposite direction of growth of hair.
Repeat this procedure until you get desired results.
Clean any leftover wax from the skin as it can clog pores.
Do not apply anything like lotions, makeup, and sunscreens, bleaching creams or any chemical at the waxed area for some hours. Let the skin heal from any redness and puffiness as top layer of skin gets removed in waxing. For any allergic reaction, you can consult physician
Purchase a wax kit that is specifically designed for leg hair, and contains washable waxing strips—these can be purchased separately if necessary.
Read the wax kit’s instructions, paying particular attention to heating instructions.
Heat wax according to the instructions. Test wax on the hairless part of the back of your hand to ensure that it is not too hot.
Sit down on a clean uncarpeted surface. Moving in the direction of hair growth spread a thin layer of wax over a section of your calf that is smaller than your waxing strip to test for sensitivity.
Quickly place the waxing strip over the warm wax and press down firmly. Allow the wax to cool slightly before moving on to the next step.
Use one hand to pull the skin taut, and swiftly pull the fabric strip up and in the opposite direction of the hair growth.
Allow skin a chance to settle down by placing a cool, slightly damp wash cloth over the waxed area. Move on to a new, possibly larger section when you are certain your skin is not sensitive to the product. Repeat the process until finished.
Prepare the wax per the instructions on the label. Some waxes require warming, while others are used cold. Most importantly, make sure the consistency is smooth.
Wash the underarm area with a mild body cleanser and water, and then pat dry. Don't scrub, as this will irritate the skin and make it more sensitive to waxing.
Apply a light dusting of either talcum or baby powder to absorb any moistness or body oils. This will allow the wax to adhere to the hair for easier removal.
Spread a thin layer of wax to the underarm layer, making sure that you do so in the direction the hair is growing.
Place the hand of the arm being waxed behind your head in order to make the skin taut. This will help ensure that you don't miss the hairs in the crease of the underarm.
Press the cloth strip smoothly on the waxed portion of your skin. Use your fingers to rub the cloth back and forth in order to make certain that the cloth is fully adhered to the wax.
Take hold of the bottom of the cloth strip and quickly pull it in the opposite direction of the growth of the hair. You should keep the cloth parallel and very close to the skin in order to get the best results. Repeat the process until the entire underarm area is hair-free, and then do the other arm in the same manner.
Pluck any stray hairs with a pair of tweezers to complete the procedure. Rinse with cool water to soothe the waxed area.
